The Protocol Snowboarding Company was founded on the idea that no matter where your home mountain is, what board you ride, what tricks you know, or how many days you got out last season... we are all united by the memory of our first taste of deep powder turns and the irresistible lifelong craving for more. It's that undefinable moment when gravity, time, and the stress of life melted away for the first time, and you found yourself flowing from heel to toe though an untouched forest meadow blanketed in snow.
Year after year, season after season, it draws us back to this thing we call snowboarding. It compels us to answer that 5am alarm, drive through questionable road conditions before daybreak, hop into a pair of cold boots, and shiver up the chairlift to our carefully guarded secret stashes of pow on the mountain.
Each of us has a protocol to get the most out of our lift ticket money. We learn what time you have to leave the house to get the good parking spots. How to avoid the lines at both the lifts and the chalet cafeteria. Where to find some fresh tracks no matter how little it snowed that season, and the best place to meet-up on the mountain, just in case someone gets lost.
Most importantly, we all learn a protocol that gets you and your crew back home, alive, and safe.
What’s your protocol? Pass it on.
